The NADAL® Hb/Hp Complex Test is a visual, immunochromatography dual quick double test for the qualitative detection of human hemoglobin in stool samples.
The test is intended for professional in-vitro diagnostic use. The test was designed to supply evidence of bowel cancer and/or adenomas. Bowel cancer is one of the most frequently diagnosed types of cancer and one of the most frequent causes of death from cancer. Bowel cancer can be detected early by means of tests for hidden blood in the stools and the mortality rate can therefore be reduced. The Hb/Hp complex plays an important role in the retreival of hemoglobin from lysed erythrocytes and is relatively stable against acid and proteolytic degradation. This means that the Hb/Hp complex can be detected even after longer passages through the bowel. This means that blood mixed with larger intestinal polyps and higher carcinomas can also be detected. The Hb/Hp complex displays a significant increase in sensitivity with regard to the recognition of colorectal adenomas and carcinomas. The combined evidence of Hb and Hb/Hp complex is therefore an innovative and extremely sensitive method for the early recognition of colon carcinomas and larger adenomas.
