The NADAL® Hb/Hp Complex plus is a visual, immunochromatographic dual rapid test for the qualitative detection of human hemoglobin and hemoglobin-haptoglobin complexes in human stool samples.
The NADAL® Hb/Hp Complex plus is intended for professional in-vitro diagnostic use. The test is designed to provide evidence of bowel cancer and/or adenomas. Bowel cancer is one of the most frequently diagnosed types of cancer and one of the most frequent causes of death from cancer. Bowel cancer can be detected early by means of tests for hidden blood in stools and the mortality rate can therefore be reduced. The hemoglobin/haptoglobin (Hb/Hp) complex plays an important role in the retrieval of hemoglobin from lysed erythrocytes. It is relatively stable against acid and proteolytic degradation and can also be detected if it is set free in the anterior intestinal region. Blood from intestinal polyps and higher carcinomas is also detectable. The NADAL® Hb/Hp Complex plus shows a high sensitivity for the detection of colorectal adenomas and carcinomas. Detection of hemoglobin and hemoglobinhaptoglobin complex is therefore an innovative and extremely sensitive method for the early diagnosis of colon carcinomas and larger adenomas.
