The individually packaged test strips are used to detect oxycodone. The present test yields a positive result from a cut-off of 100 ng/mL.
For regular testing of specific individual parameters, we recommend the test strips in the container. They are space-saving and environmentally friendly as they reduce packaging waste.
Oxycodone is a synthetic opioid. Like all opioids, oxycodone has a strong potential for dependence. It has been identified as a trigger for the opioid crisis in the United States. Oxycodone was aggressively marketed as a miracle pain reliever in the US, while the potential dangers, such as the risk of fatal overdoses, were inadequately labeled on the packaging. The pharmaceutical company Purdue (Sackler family), which introduced oxycodone in the form of the medication OxyContin®, has filed for bankruptcy due to the pressure of thousands of lawsuits. In Germany as well, Oxycodone® is one of the most commonly prescribed opioids – as Targin® (Mundipharma, with 994,000 packages prescribed in 2016) in combination with naloxone or simply as Oxycodone® HCl (Aliud Pharma, with 494,000 packages) it is used for pain management.
