The individually packaged dip test cassettes are used for the detection of morphine/opiates (MOR/OPI).
Compared to test strips, the test cassette requires only a few drops of urine to provide a reliable result. Test cassettes are also suitable for laboratory use as they can be easily integrated into the workflow.
Opium, known for over 200 years, is nothing more than the dried latex of the opium poppy. The main active ingredient of opium is morphine, which is considered the gold standard in pain treatment, as it can even alleviate severe pain. It binds to opioid receptors, thereby preventing the transmission of pain signals to the brain. In addition, it induces a calming and euphoric feeling, as well as tranquility and satisfaction, which brings a high potential for dependence. That's precisely why morphine is classified as a narcotic. Therefore, close monitoring of morphine intake is strongly recommended.
