The ichroma™ MAU control is intended for use in the clinical laboratory or physician's office as a known concentration test sample. The assay values for the ichroma™ system or the AFIAS system are given in the section "CONTROL VALUES". The user can compare the test results with the expected result ranges to ensure consistent performance of the reagent and the ichroma™ instrument or the AFIAS instrument.
The ichroma™ MAU control is stable liquid control material prepared from human blood. Components of controls based on human source materials have been tested and found to be non-reactive for hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), hepatitis C (HCV), HIV-1 and HIV-2. However, no test method can fully guarantee that products derived from human source materials are free of infectious agents.
